Digital Sandbox to Showcase Product Advances at Upcoming UASI Conference, Will Demonstrate Technology Behind Company’s Event Risk Management System
May 27 2009
Digital Sandbox, Inc., a leading provider of advanced risk-management software and analysis services, will be providing demonstrations of its Super Bowl and Dallas/Fort Worth/Arlington (DFWA) UASI solutions at the upcoming Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Conference, being held in Charlotte, NC June 9 - 11, 2009. The key drivers for both efforts were the software and expertise of the Digital Sandbox Risk Analysis Center (RAC).
The RAC, combined with ongoing consultation from Digital Sandbox experts, was critical to managing event security activities and resources for Super Bowl XLIII, allowing Tampa authorities to integrate detailed risk analysis information on demand with real-time incident reporting and graphical command-center software. Digital Sandbox is also completing a wide-ranging deployment of the RAC in DFWA, providing a region-wide risk analysis and management capability. The DFWA RAC features the first deployment of Site Profiler 4.5 software modules, providing new features for advanced web-based management and visibility, hierarchal jurisdiction management, real-time intelligence feeds, and extended GIS viewing capabilities.
“This is an exciting time for Digital Sandbox,” said President and co-founder Anthony Beverina. “These two flagship customers illustrate the full range of new real-world risk management capabilities enabled by the RAC. We gave the Tampa authorities real-time map-based visibility into the entire Super Bowl theater of operations – what we call the graphical Common Operating Picture (COP) system – for an unprecedented level of event awareness,” explained Digital Sandbox. “ln DFWA, Super Bowl host for 2011, we have laid the foundation for strategic and operation risk management with our most recent software advances.”
Days after the Super Bowl, Tampa law enforcement spokespersons praised the system for performing flawlessly and creating a comprehensive, automated view of every event, asset,
incident, and threat before, during and after the game. The COP system, which was designed and developed by Digital Sandbox risk analysts during the four months leading up to the game, gave Tampa the ability to prepare for, monitor, and respond to the full range of potential risks. A DFWA spokesman noted that Tampa’s success with Digital Sandbox solutions and the Super Bowl COP was a key positive influence on their decision to move forward with the RAC.
This year’s UASI attendees (representatives of homeland security and first-responder organizations from UASI cities, along with professionals from government, industry, and academia) are invited to the Digital Sandbox exhibit space to see demonstrations showing the RAC and COP system in action.
“The effectiveness of the RAC and the Super Bowl COP system built on it is something we believe UASI attendees will want to see. They will get an up-close look at the solution and how it could be deployed to meet their jurisdiction’s needs this June in Charlotte,” added Beverina.
