Mar 19 2009

Digital Sandbox, Inc. (DSBox), a leading provider of advanced risk-management software and analysis services headquartered in Northern Virginia, has named John Malone the chairman of its board of directors. An experienced business executive and Harvard MBA who prides himself on fueling rapid organizational development, Malone possesses more than a quarter-century of managerial expertise. DSBox founders praised Malone’s accelerated-yet-intelligent approach to growth as an ideal fit for their ten-year-old company. They also cited his ability to enhance company performance without compromising the DSBox commitment to serving national and homeland security agencies, and state and local public safety organizations.

“Since 1998, we’ve continued to increase the scope of our solutions and the depth of our services,” said DSBox CEO Bryan S. Ware. “After a decade of success, we’re ready to reach the next level. We’re confident that John can be instrumental in helping us meet that goal.”

Throughout his career, in organizations of myriad sizes, Malone’s leadership has been a catalyst for increased performance and profitability. While serving as the senior vice president at NeuStar, the company achieved growth rates in excess of 40 percent per year and earned a #1 IPO ranking. Prior to NeuStar, Malone co-founded BizTelOne, a startup that doubled returns to initial investors in less than 11 months.

“Clearly, John is as comfortable with startups as he is with Fortune 100 companies,” added company President Anthony F. Beverina. “Seeing ourselves as being on the verge of even greater achievement, we believe DSBox offers just the type of environment in which John can step in and excel.”

Malone himself expressed understandable enthusiasm for the significance of his role and responsibilities at DSBox.

“In its first ten years, Digital Sandbox has enjoyed remarkable growth and earned genuine success,” said Malone. “The company has a foundation of consistent client satisfaction, a portfolio of proven consultation and solution offerings, and leadership committed to absolute achievement. I’m excited about helping Digital Sandbox realize even greater potential.”
