Fall Internship Program

We have designed an intensive 10-week program that offers a full-time experience, where the intern is assimilated into one of our core teams to learn from, and work under the guidance of, an experienced manager. Each Digital Sandbox Intern will be assigned a mentor and receive the opportunity to work directly on projects related to homeland and national security. You will have the chance to gain invaluable professional experience through project-based work in the field of risk management. Projects are designed to allow Interns to gain “first-hand” experience as a key contributor.
Intern Openings:
We are seeking Interns within the following divisions at Digital Sandbox:
- Client Services
- Data & Analytics
- Advanced Research & Development
- Software Development
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of coursework completed toward a Bachelors Degree in a quantitative field of study (e.g., Math, Science, Engineering, Economics)
- Must have history of academic excellence
Skills:
- High level of interest in risk management, homeland security, and/or emergency management
- Experience with ASP.NET, C#, HTML, and AJAX in Windows environments
- Strong quantitative analysis, statistics, geo-spatial analysis, and data visualization skills
- Knowledge of multi-platform security models, IIS, SQL Server, object and relational databases, Visual Studio and VSS/CVS
- Ability to build and use computational models to evaluate threats and risks associated with natural disasters and terrorism
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Effective professional communication skills (oral and written) with all levels of employees and clients
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check
Desired Qualifications (preferred, but not required):
- Bachelors Degree with some Graduate coursework completed
- Active government clearance
