Object Databases

A primary strength of Digital Sandbox's products is their ability to be rapidly reconfigured for a whole new class of users. A driving technology for this flexibility is Digital Sandbox's proprietary object database architecture. We will continue to develop this technology in the future. Performance enhancing approaches will always be an important research area for us, however in addition to performance, we are exploring methods of behavioral representation, new data types, enhanced OQL support, and multi-user support.


Bayes Networks/Statistical Analysis

Digital Sandbox's analysis technique is made possible by a state of the art implementation of a Bayes Network Evaluation engine and a healthy dose of statistics. Digital Sandbox continuously researches alternate applications of these technologies in an effort to enhance our analysis approach.


Artificial Intelligence

Digital Sandbox's Site Profiler^® product applies artificial intelligence to evaluate the strength of an anti-terrorism plan. Our vision for the future of our products requires that we continue developing our capability in the area of Artificial Intelligence to enhance the insight our tools can provide our users. Genetic algorithms, intelligent agents, Markov processes, and behavioral modeling are a few of the technologies that we are currently exploring.


Palm Computing Devices

Handheld computing devices represent a new frontier for simulation and visualization. We at Digital Sandbox are excited about the potential these devices hold for expanding data collection, simulation, and data presentation options. We are exploring the areas where Palm^TM computing devices can enhance the ease of use and portability of our products.


3D Graphics Technology

Site Profiler is the first tool in its domain that allows the creation of presentation quality graphics from within an analysis tool. The resulting images and animations are a uniquely powerful enhancement to the analysis capability of the product. Our development team continues to enhance the capability of our products to represent real-world environments in real-world conditions. Current development includes enhancing model results presentation, and developing better representations of environmental and temporal effects.

In addition to our core graphics engine, Digital Sandbox is working to expand the graphics capabilities available in Palm^TM computing devices. MiniGL, a Digital Sandbox sponsored open source project is a first of its kind effort to bring the rendering capabilities available on the desktop to the palm of your hand.
